Dallas is home to more people with a net worth between $5 million and $30 million along with more BILLIONAIRES than any of Texas' other metro areas.

So as you can see, the metric of wealthy reigns high in DFW.  But what does the average resident consider wealthy?

A recent survey conducted by Charles Schwab found that DFW residents think it takes a net worth of $2.6 million to officially be considered "wealthy."

That goes along with having a net worth of at least  $840,000 to be considered "financially comfortable."  Both of those numbers are up from $2.4 million and $642,000 in the last year's survey.

Per Culture Map, nationally US citizens consider having $2.2 million as being "wealthy," and $774,000 for being "financially comfortable."

San Francisco, of course, registered the highest numbers: $5.1 million for "wealthy," and $1.7 million for "financially comfortable."
