Dirk Nowitzki thinks his jersey retirement ceremony will be emotional

Dallas Mavericks will hang up the #41 on Wednesday night.

On Wednesday, the Dallas Mavericks will retire Dirk Nowitzki's jersey. The #41 will be commemorated in a public ceremony before being hung from the rafters permanently. Details include:

January 5, 2022
Dallas Mavericks host the Golden State Warriors
6:30pm Tipoff
5pm Doors open
4:30pm Plaza open

Special guests will be NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, Coach Jason Kidd and owner Mark Cuban. The first 4,100 fans get a Dirk bobblehead. Everyone in attendance will receive a Dirk Jersey towel. There will be a #41Forever museum set up on the concourse, prizes, and a post-game ceremony.

During a press conference held on Tuesday, the GOAT said he'll probably be emotional watching videos, but he's excited to see what surprises the team has planned, and he's going to live in the moment. Here's to you, Dirk!
