Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) has just filed a patent for the most insane roller coaster you've ever seen, something that we've NEVER seen before at an amusement park…
This coaster actually detaches itself from the track, and flies through the air for as spell before landing safely back on. You actually jump untethered through the air!
Universal Studios previously applied for a patent for a roller coaster that gives riders the illusion they are flying through the air, but according to The Mouse Trap the coaster runs on a track underneath that people can't see.
This Disney coaster would be the first of its kind, and have guests actually fly through the air!
According to an internal source, the Disney patent does not guarantee the attraction will be built, and it was merely filed to protect the idea in case they decide to build it.
With that being said, you can best believe Disney Imagineers are hard at work trying to hammer out the details.
Rumor has it they have a working jump coaster model that's being kept under strict confidentiality!
