You can never have too much of a good thing, right?
That argument has persisted throughout time, and one Dallas chef believes we are facing that very quandary right now…with how much steak is in town.
In an interview with Dallas News, Chef Ji Kang of Dakota's Steakhouse was asked if Dallas was too "over-saturated" with steak.
On the surface, Chef Kang believes that it is, because there are a LOT of steakhouses in Dallas, all of which have similar menus. "You can always find creamed spinach and mashed potatoes on every steakhouse menu," he says.
But Kang also says that many local steakhouses, like Nick & Sams, Al Biernat's, Harper's, Town Hearth, and his restaurant Dakota's, are being "more creative with sides and appetizers, and we're really honing in on customer service."

Kang says, "We're in it because we want locals to be treated well here, where they'll have a place to come for anniversaries, birthdays, and special occasions. When we stepped in last September, our mission was to be the local steakhouse that gains recognition from the people of Dallas."
