A dog in Brazil has successfully sued its owner after cameras caught the man attacking the pup over the summer.
According to the NY Post, after the attack came to light the animal rights group called Fauna Group for the Protection of Animals rescued the dog and filed a lawsuit against the man on behalf of the dog, named Tokinho.
A court accepted the case, after which the dog’s owner agreed to pay a $410 fine in a plea bargain to avoid a criminal trial.
Tokinho’s lawyers believe that the owner got off too easy, and plan to appeal the verdict.
Reportedly, Tokinho had since been adopted by two teachers that renamed him Floquinho, which means “snowflake.”
