Three farmers in the western state of Gujarat in India have been arrested after they'e been caught illegally manufacturing and selling alcohol. In their state, it's illegal to make, buy, sell, or transport alcohol, and those caught doing so can face fines or even jail time.
Well, these three fellas were caught red-handed, because one of them had the bright idea to hide some of their hundreds of bottles of illegal booze in a trough that some buffaloes drink from.
Have you heard of the phrase bull in a china closet? Well, that applies to a buffalo with a water trough because some of the bottles broke, and the alcohol mixed with the water.
Some of the buffaloes drank the tainted water, unbeknownst to the farmers, and began acting strangely. Some were even frothing at the mouth, so the farmers called a vet concerned with what was going on.
The vet examined their water supply, found it tainted with booze, and then ratted the farmers out to the cops! The farm was raided earlier this week, according to RTE, and all three farmers were arrested.
It is unclear at this point what kinds of charges the farmers will be facing.
