Yesterday, the 86th edition of the Masters kicks off at Augusta National, though the course has already been played and traversed by a group of players, and people are not happy.
Ahead of the tee off, the guys from Dude Perfect were able to hold the latest edition of their "All Sports Golf Battle" on the hallowed grounds of Augusta National, and it has golf purists fuming.
Dude Perfect was joined by PGA superstar, and Dallas resident, Bryson DeChambeau, and together they played the legendary Amen Corner with a variety of sports equipment at their disposal, including a volleyball, pool cue and billiards ball, a frisbee, a baseball bat and baseball, and a foxtail to try and secure the lowest score.
The video has amassed over 6.5 million views so far, and for a short period of time was the top trending video on ALL of YouTube.
Unfortunately, Dude Perfect and Augusta National have received some backlash for in other words "desecrating" the golf course and not showing the proper respect by having this battle.
This maybe an unpopular opinion but I HATE the fact they did this at Augusta. Anywhere else but there…

I hate everything about this. Augusta is sacred and the fact that they choose Bryson makes it ten times worse. Who let this happen!?

There's been so much hate, Fred Ridley, the chairman of Augusta National, had to come out and defend the course's decision to let Dude Perfect onto the grounds.
Ridley told Golf.com, "…these are very upstanding young men who it was obvious to me in some discussions, some third-party discussions of people who had been dealing with them and things they actually said on video. They had the utmost respect and reverence for Augusta National."
And in the end, the attention the game has received has been enough to validate Ripley's decision. He said, "The results of the video have been great," Ridley said. "I think it accomplished what we wanted to. I've heard from a number of my law partners who have teenage children who said, 'This is great. My kids want to go out and play golf.' That's sort of the idea."
