Late Saved by the Bell star Dustin Diamond’s house sat abandoned for two years.
He was forced to put it up for sale six months before his passing, after which it sat. Finally, it has sold.
Diamond’s home sold for $276,400 to a real estate developer who, sorry, Bell fans, has plans to knock it down and in its place put some sort of commercial property.
Diamond initially purchased the home in Port Washington, Wisconsin in 2003 for $340,000, though unfortunately, a busted water main flooded his basement, causing the actor to lose “30 years of memories.”
After putting a $68,000 down payment to initially purchase the home, records showed Diamond owed $269,326 to Wells Fargo. Before his death in early 2021, Diamond revealed in an interview he was facing losing his house.
He told TMZ at the time, “Foreclosure means nothing when a house is destroyed … with my items I’ve lost. It now feels like Wells Fargo is trying to kick me when I’m down.”
For the first time since his death, a couple of videos were released showing the state of the home, which was cluttered and full of trash, giving fans a glimpse into Diamond’s state before his passing.
Per the New York Post, “Clothes are scattered, several bottles collected, medicine and pill bottles are seen throughout on the bathroom sink and tub, and what appears to be feces on the bathroom floor.”
Now it is unclear if squatters forced their way into the home and potentially vandalized it, but it provides a sad look into the final days of Diamond’s life.
Just a month after his diagnosis, Diamond lost his battle to extensive stage four lung cancer.
He was only 44.
