The rules of the golf course are a sacred thing, and they're not something to be trifled with or broken.
Unfortunately, an argument about these unwritten rules of the game has resulted in battery charges.
Apparently, 77-year-old Richard Randell was told by his 84-year-old friend to stop standing on the green while he was lining up a putt. Randell told him he "knew the rules of the game," and then an argument ensued.
According to Fox 35, the friend reportedly flipped off Randell, who then approached his friend and said, "do that again, and I will hit you."
Well, the friend did it again, to which Randell responded by reportedly punching the man in the face.
Deputies said the victim was taken to a local hospital with a visibly swollen bruise on the side of his face.
