Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott hasn't received an official fine from the NFL yet for his celebration Sunday jumping into the Salvation Army Bucket, but he knows it's coming.
Four Cowboys tight ends were fined the previous week for a similar celebration in the red kettle.
But Zeke says any fine coming his way is totally worth it.
"It's definitely worth it," Elliott told Dallas News. "It's definitely worth the awareness we bring to the Salvation Army."
On Wednesday Zeke toured a large warehouse floor inside the Salvation Army Christmas and Disaster Center in Dallas. It was stocked full of thousands of donated clothes and toys for those less fortunate.
"Wow," Zeke said.
That's not all he did though.
Zeke, along with his Dallas-based business partner Nick Sunderman, presented the Salvation Army a check worth $50,000, which officials say will be applied toward the Angel Tree program, a holiday fundraiser that will supply gifts for nearly 40,000 children, adults with special needs, and seniors in North Texas.
Dawn McFarland, a Salvation Army major at the Dallas chapter called the donation "phenomenal."
"The attention that it brings will have more angels adopted. More people will think and drop money in the kettle, and that helps us year-round, what goes into the kettle. When he jumps into the kettle, people write us checks. It's unbelievable. I don't think he could have imagined in 2016 the ripple effect of this."
