Even though he passed away, a family from Australia couldn't even begin to think of parting from their beloved golden retriever.
So they did what they thought what would be best to honor his memory, and turned to Chimera Taxidermy near Melbourne to turn their pooch into a bearskin rug.
The taxidermist wrote in a video posted online that the family wanted him "preserved as a pelt," and that he was "finally ready to head home."
The idea wasn't for everyone, with several people suggesting that preserving the pet in this way was "macabre," but there were plenty of folks on board with the idea.
One person replied in the comments, "This is someone's pet. They wanted to keep a part of him forever, no different to keeping ashes of a loved one. He wasn't killed for taxidermy."
