Though he has not been seen in public since 2014, fans still wanted to let famed fitness instructor Richard Simmons that he is still very much loved.
Fans gathered outside Simmons' Hollywood Hills Home, holding signs and balloons in celebration of his 75thbirthday.
Simmons did not venture outside to thank everyone, but his representative shared with Entertainment Tonight that he is doing "very well."
His rep Tom Estey said, "He's his jovial self. He spends most of his time at home and in his yard," the friend said in the rare update. "He keeps up with his reading and does what he wants to do. He deserves this time to himself. Seventy years is a milestone but he doesn't look at it that way."
According to TMZ, Simmons has suffered from knee problems, and does not want to appear in public "when he wasn't at his best."
Sources say that when he does venture outside his home, he "wears disguises good enough to fool even the paparazzi."
