Earlier this week, Ellen DeGeneres announced the end of her long-running talk show Ellen following the conclusion of its 19th season in 2022.
While many believe the show's end can be attributed to the allegations that the comedian ran a "toxic work environment," many believe the bricks started to fall after Ellen's incredibly awkward interview with actress Dakota Johnson.

In the November, 2019 interview Johnson called out Ellen for lying about being invited to her 30th birthday, leading to an incredibly awkward and tense moment between the two.

And many of Ellen's detractors were quick to come and in support of Johnson's "role," whatever that may be, in the demise of Ellen's popularity.

According to Yahoo!, while many believe the allegations of a toxic work environment are the reason for Ellen ending, the comedian says she is ending her runbecause the show was "just not a challenge anymore."
