Bad news for Ferrari drivers: be wary if you take your beauty out for a spin these days, the company is issuing a recall for nearly every car it's sold since 2005 due to possible brake failure!
And for a company that typically sells fewer than 10,000 cars a year, this recall is MASSIVE.
Per the New York Post, Ferrari issued the recall last month with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration due to what they believe is fault with the cap to the brake fluid reservoir on the vehicle.
Apparently, the cap could fail to vent, allowing an excess of pressure inside the brake lines. That pressure could in turn cause a brake line to burst, resulting in a "partial or total loss of braking capability" when the pedal is pushed towards the floor.
That seems fun, right?
In a letter to owners, Ferrari of North America said the issue will be repaired free of charge, once the parts are available.
In the meantime, they advise that any car flashing its low-brake-fluid warning on the dash should be taken off the road.
They also made a not that when push comes to shove, use the emergency parking brake!
