Back in 2017, a woman named Megan Condry bought a couple of cheeseburgers but only ate one, so she threw the other in the backseat to eat later.
She forgot about the burger for a few days, and after noticing that it had not changed it's appearance, decided to throw it in a closet to see how long it'd last. And that's where it remained for the next five years.
While sorting through Christmas decorations, Condry discovered the forgotten burger, which has remained untouched for the last five years, and found that it looks EXACLTY the same!
Condry, a receptionist, told The Sun, "It was rock hard, as hard as a hockey puck. I could probably smash a window with it. Everything is completely dry and it could start to crumble. There was no smell whatsoever and it looks the same as the day I bought it."
Condy intitially decided to carry out the burger experiment after seeing an old burger being showcased in her doctor's office. "I like science stuff. A couple of years before I went to the doctor and he had a cake stand with a burger displayed that he'd kept for 20 years. I would have just thrown it out if it wasn't for me seeing the burger in the doctor's office," she said.
And now, Condry plans to continue the experiment. She says, "I'm going to put it back in the closet and see if it dies or changes or disappears."
