A resort in Fort Myers Beach, Florida recently made an unpleasant discovery on their surveillance footage. The Sandcastle Beach Club noticed an intruder on their security cameras. Upon further investigation, they realized a homeless man had taken a nap on the ground of a common area and then defecated in the bushes.
According to NBC2, the hotel has had multiple issues with transient people in the past month. Earlier this week, a different homeless man stole a boat off the Sandcastle premises and then wrecked it in the water. A nearby resort issued a statement to their guests via notes posted on each room's door. It read:
"TO ALL TENANTS
FORT MYERS BEACH IS CURRENTLY HAVING AN INFLUX OF HOMELESS AND TRANSIENT PEOPLE.
PLEASE KEEP ANY ITEMS THAT YOU DON'T WANT STOLEN OFF OF YOUR BALCONY.
KEEP YOUR CAR AND BIKES LOCKED UP AT ALL TIMES."
The island's former mayor Tracey Gore said homelessness has been an ongoing issue in Fort Myers Beach. Unfortunately, the small town doesn't have space for a shelter. At press, the vagrant man seen using the bathroom in the shrubs has not been found by authorities.
