The heat isn't just getting to us it seems.

The Fort Worth Stockyards made the announcements that due to the rising temps, they're putting a pause on their afternoon cattle drives through next month at least.

Kristin Jaworski, director of the Fort Worth Herd, told the Dallas Morning News the group's decision was based on a number of factors including air and surface temperatures, humidity and condition of the animals.  "We are monitoring our livestock every single day," she said.

For now, crowds can still check out daily cattle drives at 11:30 every morning, and fans are encouraged to visit the Herd Experience, a behind-the-scenes look at the program located at the Longhorn Pen behind the Livestock Exchange Building on East Exchange Avenue.
