Cara Winhold received exciting news last spring... she was pregnant! A month later, she and her husband returned to the doctor and were told she was pregnant... again! How does that happen?

Experts say "double pregnancies" happen when superfetation occurs. Basically, one egg is fertilized in a sac and within a short amount of time (in her case, one week) an additional egg is fertilized in a separate sac. The babies are usually delivered at the same time and therefore become twins.
