Longtime friends Scott Edwards and Perry Charles made a pact many, many years ago that if either won a big lottery prize, they would be sure to split it with the other.

Well, that pact has been fulfilled.

Tuesday, Charles won a $361,527 Fast Play jackpot with the North Carolina Lottery.

Charles purchased a ticket on his way home from work, but waited until he got home to see if he'd won.  When he saw he had, he immediately called Edwards.

"I was lost for words," Edwards said. "I was kind of in shock too because to me that's a lot of money to win. And I know that anything he says is just the truth. So, I knew when he told me that he wasn't pulling my leg."

The two actually met while working at Winn-Dixie.

"He was my boss!" Edwards laughed. Charles added, "We always talked about if we would hit something big, it didn't matter if we went in together to get the ticket or if we got it separate, we were gonna share it with each other."

They collected their prize Wednesday, and after required federal and state tax withholdings, received $128,361.

Both men said they were looking forward to paying some bills.
