On the heels of Governor Abbott's announcement that all businesses in Texas can open to 100% capacity, the Texas Rangers just announced that next season, fans WILL be allowed to watch games at Globe Life Field.

Rangers president of business operations and COO Neil Leibman told Dallas News, "We were very encouraged that the governor's office has given clearance for us to fully open Globe Life Field at the start of the 2021 Major League Baseball season. We're fully confident that we can do this is in a responsible and safe way. There is so much pent-up demand for people wanting to go to events in a safe environment."

The club will still mandate masks for fans on the premises, and also stress the need for "voluntary compliance." Rob Matwick, the executive vice president for business operations, said fans would not be permitted to enter without wearing a mask, and a three-strike policy will be in place for fans caught in violation.

He said, "We will need fan cooperation, there's no doubt. I always think voluntary compliance. So, first and foremost, we are going to ask fans to help us comply with the rules. On active eating and drinking, I think 'active' is the key word. If people are walking around with a sealed bottle and [no mask], that becomes a little more challenging. We need fans to help us."

Tickets for two March exhibitions and April home games will go on sale March 22, though ticket sale dates for later months have yet to be announced.
