Normally, a groom would spend the night of his wedding with his new bride and NOT locked up in the middle of a jail cell. Unfortunately, Louisiana man Devin Jones is in that particular situation after his wedding day ended in gunfire.
The 30-year-old Jones, his new bride, and his friend were riding together this past Saturday after the wedding when the two men became engaged in an argument. Jones accused his friend of having an affair with his new bride, and the argument continued to escalate.
After getting caught in traffic, Jones pulled out his gun, and chased the other man through cars parked on the highway. The chase ended with Jones shooting the victim in the leg. Jones also injured an innocent person sitting in their car also caught in the traffic.
Jones' wife was able to flag down an ambulance, and then barricaded herself inside saying her husband was trying to kill her.
The police arrived quickly at the scene, and placed Jones under arrest. He and his bride were still wearing their tux and gown.
According to the NY Post, Jones is facing charges of attempted murder and second-degree battery. The two victims were flown to the hospital and are recovering.
