A hospital in Spain has threatened to fine a patient of theirs if he does not remove a personal belonging of his from the premises immediately.
And what is that belonging you ask? Only his amputated leg.
You know, we always thought that was something the hospital took care of for you, the disposal of limbs, but Bidasoa Hospital in Hondarribia, Basque Country, Spain is telling this man he has ten days to collect his leg or he will be fined upwards of $1,500.
Hospital authorities say patients are "required to organize 'the removal and proper management, through a funeral company, of the human remains that are deposited in the Bidasoa Hospital."
According to the Daily Mail, if the man does not collect his leg, not only will he have to pay the fine, he will also be forced to pay the cremation costs for his amputated leg, bringing his total payment to the hospital near $2,000.
