It happens to the best of us... you store a couple of things in your garage. Then add a few more items like Christmas decorations and bicycles. There might be an additional refrigerator or deep freezer taking up space. You've gotta put those tools somewhere, and there's also the broken TV you're going to donate one of these days. Next thing you know, you can no longer park in your car's designated room.
That's why National Association of Productivity and Organizing's DFW chapter is holding a contest for the Messiest Garage. The winner will receive a $20,000 makeover. Here's how it works:
Now– March 13th: DFW garage owners enter at napodfw.com/contest.
March 17th: A committee of professional organizers picks three finalists.
March 20th– 27th: The public votes on which of the finalists should win.
March 28th: The winner will be called and announced on social media.
May 5th- 7th: The makeover happens.
The Garage Glow-Up winner receives a professional garage transformation. NAPO-DFW works with the owner to determine what stays and what goes. They’ll organize the remaining items. California Closets will provide shelving systems. Junkluggers and Junk King will haul away unwanted stuff to be discarded, donated, or recycled. Mi-Box Moving & Mobile Storage of Texas and IMS Relocation will set up mobile storage units to house belongings while sorting. Blackbird Box Company donates boxes and packing materials for storage.
