If you've been mulling the idea of bringing home a new furry friend for the family, there really is no better time than this weekend.
In honor of the tenth anniversary of Clear the Shelters, the Humane Society of North Texas is hosting a MEGA Adoption Event this weekend at Will Rogers Memorial Center this weekend.
Humane Society of North Texas Director of Communications and Marketing Destiny Vandeput told NBC DFW, "We are so excited.
"We are thrilled to be part of Clear the Shelters this year, but even more so, we are thrilled that people are learning more about the needs of adoptable pets in our community."
This Saturday August 17 from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday August 18 from 10am to 4pm, over 26 local animal shelters will have over 1,200 animals available for adoption.
Admission to the event is free, but you must register. Fees will be $25 or less for all shelters at the event.
