Construction is set to begin next week on Cosm, a 65,000-square-foot dome that is completely immersive, and will be used for watching a ton of events in what the owners are calling “shared reality.”

Steve Winn, creator of Mirasol Capital, the Dallas investment firm behind Cosm, said in a statement, “Cosm is leveraging its technology to create a new category of immersive entertainment called ‘shared reality’, working with partners globally to stream live content to physical venues and to virtual worlds alike.

We are just getting started and have plans to open venues around the world.”

According to Cosm’s website, the company already has partnerships established with the NBA and UFC, and per Cosm president and CEO Jeb Terry, will deliver “shared reality” experiences such as “art exhibitions, experiential content, and live sports and entertainment events such as NBA games and pay-per-view UFC events without the use of headsets or other devices.”

According to the Dallas Morning News, a groundbreaking event for Cosm will occur Wednesday June 7, and the venue plans to be open by fall of 2024.
