Cowboys linebacker Jaylon Smith just surprised six local student-athletes with $10,000 each!
Smith partnered with Star Scholars, which was established last year as a partnership between the Cowboys and Reliant Energy, to search for six, deserving student-athletes living in North Texas to reward them for their "leadership, determination, and commitment to athletics, academics and the community."
According to a press release from the Cowboys, each of the recipients was nominated by a coach, teacher, or school administrator, and the scholarship will be directly payable to their college or university.
Nominations are being accepted for next year's Star Scholars scholarships recipients!
The eligibility requirements include:

2. The student-athlete must be planning to pursue a college degree and be enrolled in college in the fall semester of 2021
