We’re inching closer and closer to spooky season, so we’re always on the lookout for a really good ghost tale.

If it involves a beloved celebrity, that’s just icing on the cake.

This haunted tale involves actor Kevin Bacon, who recently wanted to expand on some farmland he bought in Connecticut in 1983 by purchasing the land next to it.

He hit a snag with the property owners though.  While appearing on Rob Lowe’s Literally podcast, Bacon was told he could not purchase the farmland until he contractually agreed to "destroy" a house on it that the original owner believed was haunted!

Bacon explained, “He said, 'I can't sell it to you because it's haunted and I'm afraid that you'll get possessed and, you know, do some serious damage.'"  Finally after some back and forth, Bacon and the owner finally came to the agreement that Bacon had to destroy the supposed haunted home “within a month” of purchasing the land.

Bacon’s wife Kyra Sedgwick wanted nothing to do with ANYTHING from the house, too.  Bacon told Lowe, “I went up there and there were some beautiful old pine boards and a bannister and I said to Kyra [Sedgwick], 'We've gotta take those out.' And she's like, 'No you're not. You're not putting those f---ing things in our house.'"
