In February, 2021, Lady Gaga's dogwalker Ryan Fischer was hospitalized after getting shot by a group of individuals while walking her French bulldogs, Koji, Gustav, and Miss Asia.  Koji and Gustav were stolen, while Miss Asia ran away and was soon recovered by the police.

At the time, Gaga offered a reward of $500,000 "no questions asked" for the return of her dogs, and it's on that basis why the 13-time Grammy winner is being sued today.

The woman who returned the dogs, Jennifer McBride, initially did not face charges in connection to the dognapping and shooting, but she was soon arrested as one of the five involved in the case.

However, McBride's attorney is arguing that since Gaga stated "no questions asked" with the reward offering and failed to pay McBride, she committed a breach of contract, fraud by false promise, and fraud by misrepresentation.

According to PEOPLE McBride was dating fellow accomplice Harold White at the time of the incident, who is the father of Jaylin White. Jaylin was also involved in the robbery and shooting, along with James Jackson and Lafayette Whaley.

Jackson was identified as the man who shot Fischer, and he was sentenced to 21 years in prison last December.

A previous LAPD news release said that the couple was "determined to be accessories after the initial crime," and were held on suspicion of accessory after the fact to attempted murder.
