Just days after it was revealed Madonna was in a new relationship with 29-year-old boxing coach Josh Popper, a source close to the singer says the relationship is all a ruse, and the pair are only dating to "promote his gym."
Popper is training Madonna's 17-year-old son David for a charity boxing match, and evidently asked Madge if she could help publicize his Bredwinners gym in Manhattan.
One source told Page Six, "He's a good-looking guy, but Madonna isn't looking for love at the moment. Josh has been training her son and she's impressed. She said she would help him promote the gym."
The source added, "He's up-and-coming and has just appeared in a reality show on Bravo, so he is eager to get attention with Madonna."
Still, the source won't rule out a potential future romance between the two.
"That's not to rule out any romance in the future," the source said, "but for now things are strictly platonic."
