This is a nightmare come to life for an amusement park.

A malfunction in the AtmosFEAR ride at Oaks Park in Portland, Oregon left riders hanging upside in the air for half-an-hour!

According to KATU, the park was closed for the day in the name of safety, and eventually workers were able to manually lower the ride back to the ground.

Out of precaution, one rider was taken to the hospital, but nobody on the AtmosFEAR was seriously hurt.

Oaks Park officials are currently looking into why the ride malfunctioned.
