A 23-year-old man from DeKalb, Illinois is facing charges of attempted murder after he stabbed another individual with a butter knife following an argument over peanut butter & jelly.
Do you know how hard someone has to stab to penetrate someone with a butter knife? Those things are dull!
The argument didn't stem over what jelly was best grape or strawberry, but apparently Javaughn Owens stabbed the other man because he refused to clean up after himself after making said pb&j sandwiches.
According to the Shaw Local, Owens stabbed the victim five times with the butter knife, including in his hip, his lower left back, his right armpit, the back of his right shoulder bone, and the right side of his collar bone.
A witness drove the victim to the hospital. Though the knife punctured an intestine, it is thought he will be ok.
Owens faced up to 30 years in prison for the act.
