Police on Long Island pulled over a man driving in the HOV lane after noticing that something about his passenger "didn't look quite right."

After stopping the vehicle, they found their suspicions to be correct as the passenger wasn't a passenger at all! Instead, the driver put a hat and coat on the seat in order to make it look like someone was sitting there!

The driver had draped a winter coat over the back of seat, and placed a baseball cap pulled way down on the headrest in order to hide the fact that there was no passenger per UPI.

The driver was ticketed for an HOV occupancy violation.
