The Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo is home to probably the most notable food challenge in the Lone Star State: Competitors have one hour to finish a 72 ounce steak, a shrimp cocktail, baked potato, salad, and a roll with some butter.

Many have attempted, and plenty have failed, but a man named James Webb not only destroyed the challenge, he almost made history.

Webb consumed the entire meal in just six minutes and twenty-eight seconds!

Unbelievably, that’s only the second-fastest time in history; professional eater Molly Schuyler took down the steak challenge in just four minutes and eighteen seconds.

Webb says he is already considering visiting the Big Texan Steak Ranch again, with the hopes of setting a new steak record.
