To dine and dash is a cruel practice to get a free meal.  In fact, any chicanery you pull to try and skirt paying the bill is inexcusable.

We're honestly surprised this man was able to avoid paying hill restaurant bills for as long as he did.

A 50-year-old man from Lithuania identified only as Aidas J. has become locally known in Alicante, Spain as "gastrojeta" because over the past year, he's faked a heart attack at a number of area restaurants in order to avoid paying the bill.

According to the Spanish news agency EFE, Aidas J. recently tried to skimp out on a bill of 34.85 euros, about $36.80 USD.  When restaurant employees prevented him from leaving, he stated he was just going to get the money from his hotel room before he "dramatically threw himself on the ground and pretended to have a heart attack."

Apparently, Aidas J.'s photo had been shared among several restaurants, so the staff was not fooled by his antics.  They called the police instead of an ambulance.

According to the Daily Mail, Aidas J. has now spent 42 days in jail after refusing to pay two fines for his "theatrics."
