Florida is no doubt the worldwide leader in absolutely insane crimes, but Oklahoma is certainly climbing the ranks of absurdity.

A man in Stillwater is facing charges of stealing a car after he lifted a truck in order to make the 30-mile drive to court in Pawnee, where he was due for a hearing over previous charges of stealing another car!

According to KOCO Kody Adams was walking around a gas station in Stillwater asking for rides to Pawnee for his court case.  When nobody took up his offer, Adams found an emergency services pickup running and occupied and took it for himself so he would make it to court on time.

Since Adams had been walking around asking for a ride, authorities had a pretty good idea of where he could be found.  Adams was picked up by a trooper walking into the courthouse.

Though Adams claimed he was just "borrowing" the truck, upon the conclusion of his initial court hearing he was transported back to Payne County and booked on new charges of stealing a car.
