Of the myriad of cute first date ideas you can probably come up with, chances are just walking around Target probably wouldn't be high on that list.
However, this woman on TikTok recently had such a date, and she said it was amazing!
25-year-old Amber Smith told the NY Post, "I matched with the guy [I] met on Hinge early last week, and he pitched the idea [that we go to Target], by saying, 'It might be weird, but if it doesn't work out between us, we'll at least be able to get some [grocery shopping] done."
The pair just walked around the store, and Smith said looking at all of the different items on the shelves sparked conversations about their mutual interests. Amber said, "We just had fun wandering around the aisles and pointing out things that we like."
She added, "We went to the shoe section, and I saw some nice hiking boots and we talked about our interests in hiking. And in the toy aisles, we pointed out games that we both loved as kids."
Smith said that the first date was a major success, and they've already planned a second.
You can learn a lot about a person you're just meeting by seeing what they pick up or what they're interested in at Target," she said. "It was really cool."
