The Rolling Stones have officially confirmed their forthcoming album, Hackney Diamonds, will be arriving on October 20, providing full details in a Jimmy Fallon-hosted livestream on September 6.
Aside from the full details the band announced during their chat with Fallon, Audacy's Remy Maxwell was interested in sharing that this in fact was The Stones' first big press conference in their hometown since June 13, 1969 -- when the group announced the addition of Mick Taylor following the sudden death of original member Brian Jones.
Now ready to drop their 24th album, these new tracks -- including the first single, "Angry" -- will mark the first new music from the band since their pandemic-era one-off single "Living In a Ghost Town," and 2012's "Doom and Gloom" and the first collection of newly recorded material since 2005's A Bigger Bang.
Remy says Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood were each "champing at the bit" during the live presser. Remy was also highly impressed by the music video for "Angry," starring White Lotus and Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney, which features "AI at its finest," he says, as she drives past billboards that come alive with images of the band from over the years with Mick singing the brand new song.

We also learn the band had been in the studio since Christmas of last year, taking close to 10 months to finalize it, recording a total of 23 songs during the sessions helmed by producer du-jour Andrew Watt of Ozzy Osbourne and Pearl Jam fame. Drummer Steve Jordan takes over the drumming duties for the late Charlie Watts, although two tracks -- "Live By The Sword," and "Mess It Up" feature Watts, as well as former member Bill Wyman coming out of retirement on the latter.

Finally, sidebarring from the new album talk, guitarist Keith Richards also revealed some of his favorite songs to play live are "Gimme Shelter" and "Jumpin' Jack Flash".
