North Carolina man Arrik Schmidt went to a used car dealership last Wednesday looking to purchase a Lincoln Navigator, but he didn't have any money.
No, instead Schmidt, an aspiring rapper, offered to rap in exchange for the car.
Obviously, the folks at Elite Auto said "no," so Schmidt left despondent, only to return to the area that next Friday, but this time he had his eyes on something other than the Navigator.
Schmidt wandered to the Carlie C's grocery store right next door, and stole a Frito Lay Truck that was in the parking lot while the driver was inside completing a delivery!
He then proceeded to lead police on an 80-mile chase across three counties before he was eventually stopped thanks to some spike strips.
Police told WRAL that they weren't sure what exactly Schmidt's plans were in obtaining the truck.
He's facing multiple charges, including larceny of a motor vehicle, which is a felony.
