A rite of passage all new parents must endure is waking up in the middle of the night to take care of their baby.

However, there's a dad who has some specific ideas on how he and his wife should divvy up those duties.

The woman took to Reddit to describe how her husband has demanded she take on ALL overnight baby duties.  Apparently, he told her that since he only has six weeks of paternity leave, whereas she has a year of maternity leave, when he goes back to work she should take on all the overnight duties herself.

She writes, "My expectation is that when my husband starts working again, I'll be taking care of our baby, our dogs and the house work during his work hours.  However, outside of his work hours, the domestic duties (including baby care) should be split pretty much 50/50. This includes tending to the baby overnight."

Comments on the post showed support for both parents, and even offering their own solutions, but at the end of the day, the consensus was "no one can do it alone."

Another commenter summed up that "Babies bring a no-win solution for exhaustion. No matter what the situation is someone or both will be tired."
