Penmanship is incredibly important. It could mean the success, or failure, of of all things, a bank robbery.

67-year-old Alan Slattery from the UK tried to rob a local bank last March, but left the facility without taking a single cent because the teller he tried to rob could not read his handwriting on the note he handed over.

After Slattery left the bank, all the tellers got together where they eventually deciphered the note which read:

Your screen won't stop what I've got, just hand over the 10s and the 20s. Think about the other customers.

Slattery didn't give up there, and proceeded to attempt the rob a couple more banks. At the second location, he wrote much more legibly and was able to make off with around $3,000.

At the third location the teller refused to comply, so once again he left with nothing.

Eventually, the police caught up to Slattery and upon his arrest, pled guilty to robbery and attempted robbery charges. Per the Eastbourne Herald, Slattery will be serving four years behind bars.
