We are winding down the days of summer; autumn will soon arrive in North Texas.

And most likely it will leave as soon as it gets here, but at least we'll have a couple of weeks (maybe) of beautiful fall foliage to look at.

But when can we expect the leaves to change?

A website called SmokyMountains.com developed an interactive map predicting when you can expect the leaves to start changing anywhere in the US!

So when can we expect the leaves to start changing in North Texas?  Looks like we're going to have to wait a while.

The map is predicting the leaves will gradually changing through October before really ramping things up the final week of the month, and we will hit our peak-Autumn leaf time the last week of November.

David Angotti, the map's creator, told Travel + Leisure, "In 2013, potential visitors to the Smoky Mountain region began asking us questions about when the leaves would be most brilliant. From these questions, we built the first version of the fall leaf map and have consistently improved it each year.

What started as a fun side-project quickly became the most respected nationwide fall leaf map and one of the best fall resources in the country. Now, tens of millions of people use our map each year to plan vacations, weddings, and photography trips."
