As you're planning your summer vacation this year, no doubt a lot of you will be making the trek down to enjoy the beaches in Galveston.
We must issue a warning though: be on the lookout for sharks!
A man recently spotted a massive hammerhead shark swimming in the shallow waters in San Luis Pass, just south of Galveston Island. A video of the shark was uploaded to TikTok, where it has been viewed more than two million times.
While visitors unfamiliar with the area might receive a little shock at seeing a shark that up close and personal, regulars seem to be unfazed by it.
Sarah and Chris Russell from Lake Jackson were fishing at the pass Friday night, and told KHOU after hearing about the shark, "We're in the ocean, like what do you expect to be out there?"
