A question burning into the minds of fast food aficionados may have finally been answered: Just what the heck is Grimace supposed to be?
We all can see that Ronald McDonald is a clown, the Hamburglar is a thief, and that Mayor McCheese is a cheeseburger. But that big purple monster? What is he?!
Well the manager of a McDonald's in Canada may have the answer.
Last month, Brian Bates told CBC News that Grimace is nothing more than "an enormous taste bud, but a taste bud nonetheless."
HOWEVER, in 2021 the official McDonald's Corporation Twitter account stated that Grimace was actually "the embodiment of a milkshake, though others still insist he's a taste bud."
Of course, the revelation that Grimace is a taste bud has people reeling!
