It wasn't too long ago McDonald's fans across the pond were introduced to the greatness of the McChicken sandwich. Over there though, they call it the "McCrispy," which is honestly a 100% better name.
Unfortunately, a billboard advertising the McCrispy in Truro, Cornwall, England has landed Mickey D's in a little bit of hot water, due to its unfortunately placement.
The billboard happened to be right next to a sign directing traffic to a crematorium…you know, where they cremate people.
You can imagine how this upset some people.
One woman, whose, mother-in-law was cremated at the establishment last year, said, "Although I can see the funny side, it is tasteless and I'm sure some grieving family members won't like to see it when visiting Penmount for the funeral and cremation of a loved one."
Some, however, did find the coincidence hilarious, but McDonald's decided to remove the sign to placate all those who might find it offensive.
A spokesperson told CornwallLive, "We were unaware of the road sign in the vicinity of this bus stop. However, in light of the concerns raised by CornwallLive, we have asked for our advertisement to be removed."
