We are truly living in the age of the musician biopic.

It was just announced a new movie is on the way from Training Day director Antoine Fuqua about the life of Michael Jackson!

According to the Hollywood Reporter the film titled Michael will be co-produced by John Branca and John McClain, who are the co-executors of the Michael Jackson estate, and Graham King, who produced the Oscar-winning Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

Per Lionsgate, the film will cover "all aspects of Jackson's life," though with his estate being directly involved it's unclear how deep the picture will dive into Jackson's many controversies.

Fuqua released a statement that read:

The first films of my career were music videos, and I still feel that combining film and music are a deep part of who I am.  For me, there is no artist with the power, the charisma, and the sheer musical genius of Michael Jackson. I was influenced to make music videos by watching his work — the first Black artist to play in heavy rotation on MTV.

"His music and those images are part of my worldview, and the chance to tell his story on the screen alongside his music was irresistible."
