This mom thought she had a home run when she tried to win some cool points from her daughter.
Devon Daniels lives in Maryland with her four children, and she told them a story about how she appeared in the music video for the Backstreet Boys' mega-hit "I Want It That Way."
And her kids couldn't have cared less, until she recorded a TikTok recounting the tale that went ULTRA viral.
Daniels told Buzzfeed, "I've tried to explain to [my kids] over the years, and they have not cared. I've shown them the video, and they're like, 'Cool, mom, cool,' To be in that video was totally life-changing. They're just now starting to get it."
The funniest thing is, Daniels had no idea how big this song would make the Backstreet Boys.
At the time, they hadn't had their huge hit. "I Want It That Way" changed all that.
She said, "They were popular but ... it was just before the true explosion, so I wasn't even super familiar who the Backstreet Boys were. I knew the songs, but I didn't necessarily know the band members."
