We've all heard the old age "money can't buy you happiness," right? Well, turns out that's a lie.

However, new research has found that though money can buy you happiness, that's only true to a certain extent.

According to YourTango, there is an ideal amount of income at which one will be happy with the money they're making, with that amount based "life evaluation," and "emotional well-being."

To achieve an ideal "life evaluation," the research says the idea income is $95,000, and for strong "emotional well-being," it's between $60,000 and $75,000.

Having any more than that can result in negative effects, as any any increases in income after those limits tend to "reduce satisfaction and well-being in our lives."

At that point, money can become more socially driven and is used primarily as a way to show off exactly how much money one has, which decreases our well-being.

At the end of the day, it's probably best to just start looking at money in a more realistic light and realize that there is such a thing as having too much.
