28-year-old Jessica Smith found in the middle of the most dire of situations when she somehow drove her golf cart right into the middle of a police standoff.
It seems Smith had no idea she found her way in the middle of the standoff between deputies in Pinellas County, Florida and 18-year-old Myles Abbott, but the officers' repeated attempts fell on deaf ears, and Smith continued her joyride around the perimeter.
And for some reason, she was naked while doing so.
Thankfully after six hours, the standoff ended without any serious injury, though gunshots were fired. Abbott shot himself in the right thigh during the standoff.
As for Smith, she was also apprehended, with the police affidavit stating according to WFLA that her "actions and inability to follow directions put multiple deputies at risk for potentially getting shot at."
The police also noted a distinct smell of alcohol on Smith's breath. That might explain why she was naked.
Smith now faces charges of resisting an officer without violence.
