Jill Maloney of Portsmouth, New Hampshire had a treehouse built for her 8-year-old son, but soon she may have to tear it all down.

Neighbors began complaining that the size of the treehouse is "imposing," and "dominates the field of view" from their backyard and house.

Maloney's neighbor Mark Moses levied his complaints at a recent meeting, where the Board of Adjustment ruled the structure is "more like a deck than a treehouse and it must be set back from the fence."

Maloney and the treehouse's builder John Raczek say they wish they'd known how Moses truly felt before they built the structure, despite receiving his approval before construction.

Raczek told CBS Boston, "If the neighbors would have said something in the beginning, we never would have built it there."

The Maloneys say they are currently talking with a building inspector and will try to move the treehouse.
