Chick-fil-A famously remains closed on Sundays, but a new bill put forth by the New York State Assembly could very well change that.
The Rest Stop Restaurant Act would require food and beverage companies contracted to provide services along the Thruway and at the Port Authority in New York and New Jersey to stay open seven days a week.
Chick-fil-A currently has seven Thruway service areas and operates 2,988 restaurants across 48 states.
One of the bill's sponsors, Assemblyman Tony Simone, recently told News10, "You know, we get hungry when we're traveling. We may not like our brother-in-law or sister-in-law's cooking and wanna get a snack on Christmas Eve. To find one of the restaurants closed on the thruway is just not in the public good."
The only exception from the seven-day-a-week operations mandate is for "temporary concessions such as farmers markets or local vendors."
